About
Pritwish Agarwal is a Researcher at Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden, affiliated with the Hybrid Quantum Systems Laboratory under Prof. Nils J. Engelsen. His work focuses on optically trapping a single Strontium-88 atom in a cryostat and interfacing it with a defect photonic cavity to generate coherent interactions with nanomechanical resonators.
- PhD in Physics, Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden (2024–present)
- Master of Science in Physics, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, India (2022–2024)
- Bachelor of Science in Physics, University of Delhi, India (2019–2022)
Past research projects include quantum discretization of Anti-de Sitter spaces, field theory on branching lattices, relativistic collisions and Glauber modeling at Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics, and performance analysis of solar distillation systems using nanoparticles at University of Delhi. His current project involves creating macroscopic quantum states of motion in fabricated resonators using cold atoms and nanophotonics.
He develops Python scripts for calculating Strontium transitions, cooling/trapping parameters, and optical dipole trap properties, with code available on GitHub. His work is funded by the ERC Grant SEQUENCE.
