Dr. Preye Worlu is a Lecturer in Marketing, Consumer Behaviour, and Consumer Psychology at Manchester Metropolitan University's Business School. He holds a PhD in Marketing from Alliance Manchester Business School, focusing on black female empowerment through consumption practices. His research explores Ethnoconsumerism, consumption practices of Black African families in Britain, and consuming motherhood.
Education: PhD in Marketing (Alliance Manchester Business School). Professional Background: Previously worked in marketing for an engineering consultancy in Nigeria serving major oil and gas clients, and owned Sweet Bakeology, a bespoke cake design company.
Teaching Responsibilities include leading units on Consumer Psychology, Consumption Behaviour, Applied Research Proposal, and Applied Research Project. Supervises postgraduate research on social media's impact on consumer decisions, retail atmospherics, and OTT product placement.
Research Interests: Consumer behavior intersections with race, gender, and ethnicity; African retail trends; developing economies consumption patterns. Current projects investigate ethnoconsumerism and consumption dynamics among Black African families in the UK.
