About
Predrag Bosnić holds a Doctor of Biological Sciences degree from the Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade, where he completed his doctoral studies under mentor Miroslav Nikolić (2012-2019). Since 2013, he has been affiliated with the Institute for Multidisciplinary Research at the University of Belgrade, currently serving as a Researcher in the Department of Plant, Soil and Nano Systems. His research focuses on physiological and molecular mechanisms of plant nutrition, particularly silicon's role in mitigating sodium toxicity, mineral fertilizer development, and precision agriculture in viticulture.
- Education: Doctor of Biological Sciences (2019), University of Belgrade; BSc in Biology (2012), University of Belgrade
- Research Areas: Silicon in plant nutrition, sodium uptake mechanisms, mineral fertilizer development, precision viticulture, ESCA syndrome in grapevine
- Skills: ICP-OES, CHNS analyzer, soil/plant mineral analysis, remote sensing (NDVI/NDRE), PCR techniques, UV-Vis spectroscopy, plant growth-promoting bacteria detection
His publications explore silicon's role in mineral stress mitigation, including selenium-iron interactions in oilseed rape (2020), silicon-iron dynamics in cucumber (2019), and calcium-silicon interactions in maize (2019). He serves as a reviewer for Plant and Soil (IF 3.39) and Journal of Soil Science and Plant Nutrition (IF 2.06), and is a member of the International Society for Silicate Application in Agriculture (ISSAG).
