Pratik J Parikh

Dr. Pratik J. Parikh is a Professor and Department Chair at the University of Louisville's Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering, with prior faculty roles at Wright State University and industry experience at Manhattan Associates. He holds a Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Virginia Tech (2006), alongside earlier degrees from the University of Baroda and SUNY Binghamton.

• Research Interests: Data analytics, optimization in supply chain, retail, healthcare, trauma network design, visibility-based layout design, remanufacturing systems, interruptions in healthcare.
• Laboratory: Leads the Data Analytics & Optimization Lab (DAOL) with $3M+ funding, mentoring 12 PhDs and 25+ UG researchers.

His work focuses on optimizing physical environments in retail and healthcare to enhance visibility and efficiency. Recent studies include:

• Trauma network design using bilevel integer programming
• Mixed-aisle configurations for warehouse order picking
• Visibility-based hospital layout optimization
• Dynamic dual bin packing for server testing environments
