Praphul Joshi

Praphul Joshi, PhD, is an Associate Professor at the Department of Population Health within the College of Health Sciences at Sam Houston State University. He is a public health expert specializing in chronic disease evaluation and community-based interventions to address health disparities, with over 25 peer-reviewed publications and national/international presentations.

Research Focus: Dr. Joshi’s work spans epidemiology, biostatistics, genetic determinants of type-2 diabetes, water-energy-food nexus governance, sedentary behavior impacts, and healthcare access disparities. His recent articles highlight interdisciplinary approaches to sustainability, chronic disease prevention, and health policy.

Leadership: He serves as Vice-President of the National Social Science Association and is an active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
