Power Boothe is Professor of Painting at the Hartford Art School, University of Hartford. With over four decades of artistic practice, his work resides in prestigious collections including The Metropolitan Museum of Art and Museum of Modern Art. He previously served as Dean of Hartford Art School (2001-2010) and Director of Ohio University's School of Art.
Boothe's abstract paintings explore geometric compositions and chromatic relationships. His interdisciplinary practice extends to experimental theater, dance, and film set design, for which he received a Bessie Award.
Major awards recognize his contributions: Guggenheim Fellowship (1986), NEA Fellowship, and Asian Cultural Council Grant. He continues exhibiting internationally, with recent solo shows at Lyman Allyn Art Museum and Five Points Gallery.
