Ping Yi

Dr. Ping Yi is a Professor of Civil Engineering at the University of Akron and Director of the Ohio Transportation Consortium. As President of NACOTA and member of ASEE/ASCE, his research advances intelligent transportation systems through sensor technologies and data analytics.

Research spans traffic sensor evaluation, adaptive signal control, location-based systems, and traffic safety. Recent publications demonstrate strong focus on connected/automated vehicles (CAVs) and aging populations. Article analyses reveal dominant themes in intelligent traffic management, CAV integration for senior mobility, and optimization algorithms for mixed-traffic environments.
