Associate Professor Ping Wang is a faculty member at the School of Humanities and Languages within the Faculty of Arts, Design and Architecture at the University of New South Wales (UNSW). Her expertise lies in classical Chinese literature and philosophy, with a focus on ci-poetry and Chinese literati art and aesthetics.
Her research adopts an interdisciplinary approach, collaborating with international institutions across Asia, Europe, and the US. Notable projects include co-authoring Daxue & Zhongyong (2012) and Mingjia & Related Texts (2020), which explore Confucian classics and pre-Qin philosophy.
Wang has secured significant international grants, including the €2 million Narrative Modes of Historical Discourse in Asia Project (2015–2019) and a $1.5 million Core Concepts of Historical Thinking Project (2019–2021). She has received fellowships such as the Visiting Research Fellow at Adam Mickiewicz University and Affiliated Fellow at Leiden University, highlighting her global academic impact.
Her teaching portfolio includes courses like ARTS3456 Classical Chinese Literature and ARTS2464 Chinese Ideas of Beauty and Erotica: Ancient to Modern, alongside language instruction for non-background speakers.
