Pierre MAZZEGA

Pierre MAZZEGA is a Senior scientist at CNRS in the "Laboratoire Interdisciplinaire Solidarités, Sociétés, Territoires" (LISST UMR5193) at the University of Toulouse, France, and an affiliate researcher at the Strathclyde Center for Environmental Law and Governance, University of Strathclyde, Scotland. With a Doctorate in earth observation from space and an Engineer in geophysics, he holds an HDR accreditation to supervise research from Toulouse University.

Dr. MAZZEGA's research focuses on modeling environmental law, policy, and governance as complex systems. His interdisciplinary approach combines environmental science, law, and complex systems theory to address critical global challenges. His work spans environmental changes and health interactions, as well as nonlinear data analysis and assimilation in models from both in situ and remote sensing sources.

Analyzing his recent publications reveals a strong trend toward interdisciplinary research bridging environmental science, law, and policy. MAZZEGA has published extensively on environmental governance, legal frameworks for ocean management, climate change policy, and the application of network analysis to legal systems. His work increasingly focuses on the intersection of environmental law and complex systems, with particular attention to ocean governance and the "One Health" approach that connects human, animal, and environmental health.
