Pierre-Jean Hanard

Pierre-Jean Hanard is a PhD candidate in Strategy, International Management & Entrepreneurship at King’s Business School (University of London), supervised by Prof. Ute Stephan and Dr. Uta Bindl. He holds a Sloan MBA from MIT, alongside degrees from HEC Liège, Vlerick, and SDA Bocconi. He currently serves as an Adjunct Teaching Fellow and MSc Entrepreneurship module leader at UCL School of Management, and as an Entrepreneurship Expert at Oxford Saïd Business School. His research focuses on entrepreneurs' mental health, resilience, and well-being during crises like the pandemic.

Prior roles include teaching at London College of Fashion, coaching for Harvard’s Advanced Leadership Initiative, and advising MIT’s U-Lab course. He has extensive industry experience as an entrepreneur-in-residence at Citi Ventures, co-founder of Fintech startup IDDEA, and former Chief of Staff at HSBC Private Bank. He frequently speaks on early-stage entrepreneurship, advising sectors including FinTech, HealthTech, and Sustainability.

His publications analyze global entrepreneurial challenges during crises, with a focus on agility, resilience, and well-being frameworks. He has contributed to high-profile reports such as the King’s Business School study warning of 16.6M UK jobs at risk from SME failures. His work bridges academic research with practical insights for entrepreneurs navigating turbulent markets.
