Pierre Boyer-Mercier is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Environmental Design, School of Architecture, University of Montreal. His research focuses on the sociology of housing, urban development, and the principles of new urbanism.

Research Interests: Examines neighborhood dynamics in dense individual housing, modes of living in intermediate habitats, citizen relations across housing typologies, and the historical sociology of private life. His work intersects with urban policy and sociological analysis of built environments.
