Pierre BONNET

Pierre BONNET is an Associate Professor (Maître de Conférences) at the University of Clermont Auvergne, affiliated with the UFR of Chemistry. He holds a Doctorate in Materials Science from the Jean Rouxel Institute of Materials (Nantes) and has been part of the Inorganic Materials (IM) team since 2009. His research focuses on nanomaterials, including metal (oxy)fluorides synthesis, functionalized carbon nanotubes, and applications in energy and environmental technologies. He is a member of the Fluorination and Fluorinated Materials (MF2) research theme and actively contributes to initiatives like Labex IMOBS3. Pierre has held roles such as Elected Member of the CP2E Council and Scientific Secretary of Section 15 of CoNRS.

Education: Engineer from the Polytechnic School of Nantes (Materials Option, 2002), DEA in Materials Science (2002), and a PhD from the Jean Rouxel Institute of Materials (2006). His postdoctoral research included studies at the Pierre Aigrain Laboratory (ENS Paris) and Blaise Pascal University.

Research Themes: Nanofluorides/nano-oxyfluorides for energy storage and photocatalysis, carbon nanotube functionalization, and fluorine chemistry applications. He explores materials for batteries, environmental remediation, and gas sensors.
