Pierluigi Ingrassia

Pierluigi Ingrassia serves as a Researcher at the University of Eastern Piedmont, leading the Simulation Centre in Health Science and conducting research in simulation-based learning methodologies. He co-founded the Research Centre in Emergency and Disaster Medicine at the university and currently holds the position of Secretary for the Society of Simulation in Europe (SESAM). His career began as a consultant in Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care within the Italian National Health Service hospitals, later evolving into a technical officer role for emergency medical systems at the World Health Organization's Regional Office for Europe.

His research specializes in disaster medicine education and emergency response systems, with emphasis on simulation-driven training solutions. He has designed university-level courses in emergency response and disaster relief, lecturing extensively at international scientific congresses. His work bridges theoretical knowledge with practical application in high-stakes medical environments through advanced simulation technologies.

Dr. Ingrassia obtained the National Academic Qualification as Associate Professor in Anesthesiology (sector 06/L1) in March 2017 and has authored over 45 peer-reviewed research articles. He actively develops simulation-based educational frameworks through the university's Simulation Centre in Health Science and the Research Centre in Emergency and Disaster Medicine, focusing on improving healthcare professional preparedness for disaster scenarios.
