Pia Williams is a Professor at the Department of Education, Communication and Learning, University of Gothenburg. She leads the Policy, Profession, Quality and Children's Learning (PPQL) research environment, focusing on Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) with emphasis on collaboration, quality standards, and preschool teachers' professional development. Her work spans children's learning, play, and development in Swedish preschools, integrating digital competence and curriculum reforms.
