Phyllis Alexander

Dr. Phyllis Alexander is an Associate Professor in Accounting and Taxation at Bournemouth University's Business School. Her teaching emphasizes active, problem-based learning and professional competency development. She holds internal roles in REF Impact, TeachBU, and the Industry Advisory Board, while externally serving as Vice-President of AFECA and Finance Director for the Tax Research Network.

She researches tax literacy, environmental reporting, and sustainability pedagogy. Current projects include cross-country studies on tax morale and financial anxiety in students, an ERASMUS+-funded initiative (STAMP-online) to digitize accounting education, and a British Council project developing an SDG13-Climate Action module for higher education.

Her publications focus on taxation, educational innovation, and sustainability, with recurring themes of equity, behavioral analysis, and policy impact. Recent work explores youth tax literacy and organizational commitment through CSR.
