Phillip Falcetti is a Part-Time Lecturer in the Department of Health Science at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB), and an Adjunct Professor in the Human Services Department at Saddleback College. He also serves as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence – Orange County (NCADD-OC). With over 20 years of experience in health education, he has held leadership roles in alcohol, tobacco, and drug (ATOD) prevention, including founding the Community Alliance Network (CAN) in 1998.
Education: Falcetti holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) and is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES).
Research Interests: His work focuses on ATOD prevention, public health policy, and community-driven health initiatives. He has developed programs like ‘Bone Builders’ (certified by the National Arthritis Foundation) and contributed to legislation such as California’s Measure H, which preserves tobacco settlement funds for health. His advocacy spans policies in venues like malls, stadiums, and corporations, reducing tobacco and drug access.
Labs/Teams: He collaborates with diverse organizations, including the Orange County Methamphetamine Task Force, Society for Public Health Educators (SOPHE), and Prevention Coalition of Orange County. His roles include chairing the alcohol, tobacco, and drug subcommittee on the Tobacco Settlement Revenue (TSR) Advisory Council and coordinating the Drug Abuse Warning Network (DAWN) program in Orange County hospitals.
Advising/Grants: Falcetti has served on CSULB’s Alumni Association board and Health Science graduate advisory council. He has secured funding for initiatives such as CAN and DAWN, and his policy work reflects a focus on grants and collaborative advocacy.
