Phillip Fackler is a Lecturer in the Critical Writing Program at the University of Pennsylvania, affiliated with the Marks Family Center for Excellence in Writing. He earned his PhD in Religious Studies from the University of Pennsylvania in 2017, with a focus on Religion in the Roman Empire, particularly the construction of Christianity and Christian identity. His research explores how pseudepigraphic writings shape the reception of earlier textual traditions and reflect the reading practices of their creators. He has also served as director of the writing center at St. Augustine's University in Raleigh, NC, and has taught religion and critical writing courses at both institutions.
