Phillip Chan

Phillip Chan is an Associate Research Scientist in Neurology at Yale School of Medicine. He holds a medical degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and a PhD from the University of Amsterdam focused on neurological impacts of acute HIV. His work spans HIV-associated neurocognitive disorders, neurodegenerative diseases, and global health research in Thailand and Hong Kong. Dr. Chan collaborates widely with institutions including the Spudich Lab and the Center for Brain & Mind Health.

Research Interests: AIDS Dementia Complex, biomarkers in neuroinfection, neuroimaging applications in HIV monitoring, and translational neurology. He has published extensively on HIV neuroinvasion mechanisms, CNS immune activation, and antiretroviral therapy outcomes.
