About
Philippe Remy is a Professor and University Hospital Practitioner (PU-PH) at Paris-Est Créteil University, affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine and Henri Mondor University Hospital. He is the Coordinator of the Henri Mondor Parkinson Expert Center and a key member of the NeurATRIS Executive Committee, leading Node3 of the consortium. His research is centered on neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Parkinson’s and Huntington’s, with a focus on functional imaging and biotherapies.
- Doctor of Medicine (1995)
- Doctor of Neuroscience (1997)
- Trained in Good Clinical Practices (2009, 2016)
- Trained in medical pedagogy and teaching supervision (2005, 2006)
His research spans functional imaging (PET, fMRI), gene therapy, neural grafting, and neuroinflammation. He investigates brain metabolism, motor-cognitive integration, and novel therapeutic strategies including GLP-1 agonists and nicotine. His work bridges clinical neurology with advanced imaging and translational neuroscience.
The most recent articles highlight a strong trend in clinical translation: from trials of lixisenatide in early Parkinson’s to digital cognitive monitoring in Huntington’s. His expertise in PET imaging, particularly TSPO and dopamine transporter studies, supports both diagnostic and mechanistic research. There is a consistent focus on quantification methods, neuroinflammation, and longitudinal patient monitoring.
- Internat Medal (Paris, 1995)
Dr. Remy leads research within the NPI Laboratory and the NeurATRIS consortium, supported by national funding (PIA). He has supervised major clinical trials and imaging studies, often in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. His work includes grant-funded projects on gene therapy and neural transplantation, with ongoing exploration of disease-modifying therapies.
He is actively involved in the NeurATRIS network, focusing on translational neuroscience infrastructure. His lab utilizes advanced PET and MRI techniques, with emphasis on automated image analysis and biomarker development. Collaborative teams include neurologists, imaging scientists, and molecular biologists working on neurodegenerative disease mechanisms and interventions.
