Philippe Canguilhem is a Professor of Musicology at the University of Tours and a Senior Member of the Institut Universitaire de France (2017–2022). He previously held academic positions at the University of Toulouse Jean-Jaurès (1986–2019) and Strasbourg II (1992), with teaching appointments at institutions such as the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (Barcelona), Conservatoire National de Région de Toulouse, and Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris.
