Philipp Paech is a Global Distinguished Professor of Law at the University of Notre Dame’s London Campus and an Associate Professor of Law at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). He serves as the Academic Director of Notre Dame’s new LLM programme in London and has been a leading expert in financial regulation for over 20 years. His work focuses on digital finance, FinTech innovation, and regulatory frameworks at the EU level.
He chairs the EU Commission’s expert group on FinTech (ROFIEG), whose recommendations shaped the EU Digital Finance Strategy. His teaching includes International Financial Regulation and International Financial Law at Notre Dame. He holds visiting professorships at Goethe University Frankfurt, the European University Institute, Bocconi University, and Tokyo University.
As an attorney-at-law in Frankfurt and UK-accredited mediator, Paech advises governments and international bodies like the OECD, UK Foreign Office, ECB, and European Parliament. His expertise has influenced legal reforms across Europe through contributions to over two decades of policy work.
