Philipp Laumer

Philipp Laumer, MA is a Lecturer at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU) in the Historical Seminar, Medieval History department. He is also a Researcher in the FWF project "Emperor Sigismund's Reign in a New Perspective" at the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW) since 2024 and a Research Associate in the ÖAW go!digital project "SiCProD: Sigmund of Tyrol's Court" at the Leopold-Franzens-University Innsbruck since 2022.

• Education: History studies with a focus on historical sciences at LMU Munich (2013–2019).

Research interests include Medieval History, Byzantine Studies, Diplomatics, Epigraphy, and Digital Humanities. He specializes in editing historical charters, analyzing sigillography, and prosopographical databases, with emphasis on medieval political networks and multilingual cultural interactions.

Collaborations and Projects span institutions like the Monumenta Germaniae Historica (MGH), Timelab, and HI Laboratories. His work includes editions of Philip of Swabia's charters and digital editions of medieval manuscripts.
