Philipp Demgenski is a Senior Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology, affiliated with the Department of Anthropology of Politics and Governance. He also serves as an associate researcher in the Department of Sociology at Zhejiang University. His work focuses on urban anthropology, socio-political dynamics of urban renewal, and global heritage governance, with fieldwork expertise in China (Shandong, Zhejiang, Qingdao, Hangzhou, Peking).
