Philip Rupprecht is a Professor of Music at Duke University's Trinity College of Arts & Sciences since 2016. He holds a PhD from Yale University (1993), an M.Phil. from Yale (1991), and a B.A. from the University of Cambridge (1988). His research focuses on 20th-21st century music, particularly institutional politics of musical taste, operatic narrative, national musical traditions, and tonality studies. Notable works include British Musical Modernism and studies on Benjamin Britten, Harrison Birtwistle, and Malcolm Arnold.
