Dr. Philip LeDuc is the William J. Brown Professor at Carnegie Mellon University with joint appointments in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, and Biological Sciences. As founding director of the Center for the Mechanics and Engineering of Cellular Systems, he leads interdisciplinary research at the biology-engineering interface.
Research integrates mechanical engineering principles with biological systems, exploring cellular mechanics, nanotechnology applications in biology, and nature-inspired design. Current projects include developing microfluidic platforms for disease modeling and creating biological-mechanical hybrid systems.
