About
Dr Philip Norcott is a Lecturer in Chemistry at the College of Science and Engineering, Flinders University. He holds a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of Sydney (2016) and completed postdoctoral roles at the University of York (2016-2018) and Australian National University (2018-2021). In 2021, he received an ARC DECRA to design organocatalysts for hyperpolarised magnetic resonance and began his independent research career at ANU before joining Flinders University in 2025.
His research focuses on sustainable synthesis and magnetic resonance techniques, particularly
- Electrochemistry applications
- NMR hyperpolarisation methods
- Synthetic strategies for isotope labeling
Recent publications highlight advancements in para-hydrogen-induced hyperpolarisation and electrochemical deuteration. These works intersect with SDG goals related to sustainable chemistry and education.
Notable scientific awards include:
- ARC DECRA (DE210100065) - $446,924
