Dr. Philip Dunne is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Medicine, Dentistry and Biomedical Sciences at Queen's University Belfast. He leads the Patrick G. Johnston Centre for Cancer Research and serves as Programme Deputy Coordinator for the MSc Bioinformatics and Computational Genomics program. His research focuses on mechanisms of colorectal cancer progression and tumor microenvironment interactions.
Research Interests
Dunne's work integrates wet-lab and dry-lab approaches, combining digital pathology, molecular biology, and translational bioinformatics. Key areas include molecular subtyping of tumors, pre-clinical model development, and clinical trial translation across Europe. His team investigates signaling pathways in early tumor dissemination, stromal-immune crosstalk, and biomarker validation for therapeutic strategies.
