Philine Kowol is a Researcher at the Quality & Usability Lab of the Technical University of Berlin since April 2022, contributing to the USOS (Support for self-organization in studies) project in AI in Education. Previously, she worked at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) and as a research assistant in TU Berlin's Department of Machine Learning. She holds a Master's degree in Media Informatics from TU Berlin (2022), with a focus on human-machine interaction and data science.
Her research emphasizes text-based dialogue systems, natural language generation, and machine learning applications. Notable projects include developing a Berlin restaurant chatbot (2018) and a modular tourism chatbot (2021). She also supervises Bachelor and Master theses in her research areas.
Teaching activities include courses like 'Python for Machine Learning' and tutorials on programming and algorithms. She co-founded the Media Informatics Initiative (MInitiative) in 2018, serving as chair (2019–2021), and was actively involved in student governance through roles in the Student Parliament and mentoring programs.
