Phil Rudkin

Phil Rudkin is a Senior Lecturer and Senior Fellow in Policing, Criminal Justice & International Law Enforcement at the School of Social Sciences, Nottingham Trent University (NTU). He leads policing and criminal justice programs from level 4 to 7, collaborates internationally, and consults on law enforcement training and curriculum development.

His research focuses on the effectiveness of police education, curriculum design, and the impact of professional policing degrees on law enforcement recruitment and training. He has contributed to internationalization and employability initiatives within NTU.

Phil’s publications explore educational frameworks in policing, practice-based learning, and workforce readiness. These works align with his expertise in criminal justice and law enforcement training.

He holds a Senior Fellowship from the Higher Education Academy (2024) and has served as an external examiner for policing programs at Staffordshire University and City College Norwich.

Phil chairs the Finance Committee at Asfordby Hill Primary School, acts as a magistrate (JP) for Leicestershire and Rutland, and contributes to the Higher Education Forum and Security Academy board.
