Phil Legg

Phil Legg is Professor in Cyber Security at University of the West of England, where he co-directs the NCSC-recognised Academic Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security Education. He leads the MSc Cyber Security program and computer science research theme.

His research develops:

• Cyber situational awareness tools
• Insider threat detection systems
• Human-machine collaboration frameworks
• Adversarial machine learning defenses

Legg founded CSE-Connect to advance cybersecurity education and outreach. With industry certifications including CompTIA SecurityX and Azure, he conducts research for DSTL, NCSC, and InnovateUK on network defense and IoT security.

He teaches Cyber Security Analytics and Consultancy, having previously researched at Oxford and Swansea universities.
