Professor Phil Cooper is Professor of Epidemiology of Infectious Diseases at St George’s, University of London. His research examines parasite immunology and allergy-helminth interactions.
He trained at St George's (MBBS 1988), completed a PhD at Cambridge on parasite immunology, and conducted NIH-funded helminth immunology research. His Wellcome Trust-supported work investigates how parasitic infections modulate allergic responses.
Professional experience includes a chair in Parasitology at Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine before returning to St George's in 2013.
