Pheme Perkins

Pheme Perkins is the Joseph Professor of Catholic Spirituality at Boston College's Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences, affiliated with the Theology Department. She holds a Ph.D. from Harvard University and an A.B. from St. John's College.

• Research focuses on Greco-Roman cultural influences on early Christianity, Hellenistic philosophy, Pauline epistles, Johannine writings, resurrection theology, Nag Hammadi texts, Gnosticism, and the work of Irenaeus.
• Teaches courses including New Testament Ethics, Pauline Tradition, and Gospel studies.
• Published notable works like 1 Corinthians and Reading the New Testament (3rd ed., 2012), which won a 2013 award from the Catholic Publishers Association.
