Petroula Proitisi

Dr Petroula Proitisi is a Senior Lecturer in Genetic Epidemiology at the Wolfson Institute of Population Health, Queen Mary University of London. She serves as Deputy Lead for the Digital and Health Data Science Theme, focusing on integrating multi-omics data to advance dementia research.

• Education: BSc in Biological Sciences, MSc in Human Molecular Genetics, MSc in Medical Statistics, PhD in Neuroscience

Her research spans causal inference in neurodegenerative diseases, early dementia detection, and multi-omics data integration to identify biomarkers. She has supervised diverse projects, including blood protein signatures for dementia prediction and genetic overlaps between Alzheimer’s disease and depression.
