Petra Music

Petra Music is a Senior Lecturer in Flute and Instrumental Didactics at the Department of Music Education Innsbruck, Mozarteum University Salzburg. She specializes in solo, orchestral, and chamber music performance on historical and modern flutes, with a focus on Renaissance to Romantic-era repertoires and improvisation. Her pedagogical work emphasizes natural learning concepts to foster creative expression.

Education: Doctorate in Flute Performance and Literature (UIUC), Master’s in Concert Flute (KUG), Traverso (Verona), and German Philology (Graz).

Research interests include stylistic diversity across historical periods, improvisation techniques, and pedagogical approaches rooted in natural learning. Her international engagements include workshops, competitions, and festivals, such as the 18th International Adams Flute Festival.
