Petra Bos

Petra Bos is an Associate Professor at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, affiliated with the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Network Institute. Her expertise spans multilingualism, dyslexia, and language disorders in bilingual children. She has been at VU since 2000 following a PhD from Tilburg University on bilingual development in Moroccan Arabic-Dutch children.

Education: Studied Arabic at Leiden University, earned a PhD from Tilburg University. She teaches courses on dyslexia, orthographic instruction, and French language. She created the 'Meertaligheid en taalstoornissen' website supporting clinicians working with multilingual children with language disorders.

Research focuses on dyslexia interventions, multilingual education, and language acquisition. Her work includes 21 publications and datasets on bilingual child language and multilingual disorders. She actively participates in thesis examinations and professional workshops.
