Peter Yuen

Peter Yuen is a Reader at Cranfield University within the Centre for Electronic Warfare, Information and Cyber, part of the School of Aerospace, Transport and Manufacturing. His work bridges defence engineering, remote sensing, and advanced signal processing, with strong collaborations across UK and international academic institutions and government agencies such as DSTL, EPSRC, and the Home Office.

His research interests span Remote Sensing, Electro-Optics, Hyperspectral Imaging, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Defence Sensors, Biomedical Engineering, and Environmental Monitoring. He focuses on developing AI-driven computer vision systems for detecting difficult targets in cluttered environments, compressive imaging, spectral reconstruction, and atmospheric correction in hyperspectral data.

The recent publications highlight a strong trend toward deep learning for hyperspectral data analysis, band selection, target detection, and agricultural monitoring. There is also significant work in X-ray and electro-optical imaging for security and medical applications, demonstrating interdisciplinary reach.
