Peter Webb

Dr Peter Webb is a Senior Lecturer in Sociology and Programme Leader for Sociology at the University of the West of England, Bristol. His work spans research, teaching, and creative practice in music, subcultures, globalisation, new media, and social theory.

Research Focus:

• Subcultures (music-based and political)
• Globalisation and new technology
• Impacts on music industry and social structures
• Multiculturalism and identity
• Combines theoretical frameworks like Phenomenology, Marxism, and cultural sociology

Key Projects:

• ESRC project on E-commerce and industries (University of Bristol)
• Author of "Exploring the Networked Worlds of Popular Music" (Routledge, 2010)
• Co-founder of publishing company PC-Press ("Total State Machine", 2015)
