Peter Trubowitz

Peter Trubowitz is Professor of International Relations and Director of the Phelan US Centre at the London School of Economics and Political Science. He holds an Associate Fellowship at Chatham House and previously taught at University of Texas at Austin. His research focuses on international security, American foreign policy, and the intersection of US domestic politics with global affairs.

Research interests span American grand strategy, comparative foreign policy analysis, and how US party politics influences America's global role. His scholarship examines geopolitical shifts and democratic resilience in international systems.

Recent publications analyze contemporary challenges to the liberal international order, US foreign policy under Trump/Biden administrations, and geopolitical implications of democratic backsliding. Article trends show consistent focus on:
