Peter Schlaier

Peter Schlaier is Professor and Dean of Studies for the Bachelor of Architecture program at Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences (Hochschule für Technik Stuttgart), Faculty of Architecture and Design. He teaches Building Construction and Design, with affiliations including membership in the Association of German Architects (BDA) since 2014. Previously, he held positions as Acting Professor for Sustainable Construction at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and honorary lectureships at the University of Stuttgart and Umeå School of Architecture in Sweden.

His research focuses on architectural design, sustainable construction methodologies, wood applications in building exteriors, and cultural space conceptualization. Key interests include climate-responsive architecture, residential typologies, and integration of environmental solutions in urban contexts.

Schlaier's publications demonstrate consistent focus on sustainable design practices, material innovation, and cultural architecture. Recent works explore climate-adaptive projects, German residential architecture, and socio-spatial solutions for migration communities, reflecting interdisciplinary approaches merging environmental science with cultural studies.
