PhDr. Peter Salner, DrSc., is a researcher at the Institute of Ethnology and Social Anthropology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences. He has lectured on urban ethnology and Jewish culture at universities in Bratislava, Prague, and Zurich.
- University education at the Department of Ethnography and Folklore Studies, Faculty of Arts, Slovak University of Applied Sciences.
- Earned CSc. and DrSc. degrees at the Slovak Academy of Sciences.
His research focuses on urban ethnology, Jewish community development in Slovakia during the 20th and 21st centuries, and oral history. He has led multiple VEGA projects and contributed to international initiatives like 'Oral history: The fates of Holocaust survivors' and 'Centropa.'
Salner is the author of 19 books and over 100 studies, primarily examining the social dynamics of Bratislava's population and Jewish cultural preservation.
