Peter Roe

Peter Roe is a Lecturer at Anglia Ruskin University's Faculty of Health, Education and Social Care, based in Chelmsford. He specializes in paramedic science and contributes to the Advanced Practice MSc program through his teaching and clinical expertise.

Peter's research focuses on undifferentiated acute illness and chronic disease management in primary care settings. His work emphasizes clinical diagnostics, prescribing plans, and specialist level 1 minor surgery. With extensive frontline experience in emergency medical services, he brings valuable practical knowledge to his academic role, bridging the gap between theory and practice in healthcare education.

Peter teaches the MOD006616 Change Project Module for the Advanced Practice MSc (Apprenticeship), developing course content and delivering sessions focused on examination techniques and requirements for students to complete their summative elements. His teaching approach integrates the four pillars of advanced practice to create comprehensive change projects.

Prior to his academic career, Peter spent ten years in the London Ambulance Service, culminating in solo FRU work responding to critical CAT1 calls. He transitioned to Primary Care in 2019, expanding his clinical expertise while earning his MSc. He now works as a senior clinician who mentors peers, leads complex cases, and performs Level 1 minor surgery. His GP practice supports his academic work through compressed hours, allowing him to contribute to both clinical and academic fields simultaneously.
