Peter Renze

Peter Renze serves as a Professor and Director of the Institute of Energy and Drive Technology at Ulm University of Applied Sciences, specializing in applied energy systems and thermal engineering.

His research focuses on:

• Energy technology and fluid mechanics with emphasis on heat exchangers
• Development of energy and process engineering equipment
• Numerical flow simulation (CFD) using OpenFOAM for industrial applications

Professor Renze teaches core engineering subjects including Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, CFD, Heat Exchangers, and Renewable Energies (biomass specialization). He actively supervises bachelor's and master's theses in energy technology and thermal systems, providing students with hands-on research opportunities in sustainable energy solutions. As Institute Director, he leads practical research initiatives bridging academic theory with industrial engineering challenges in drive technology and renewable energy systems.
