About
Peter R. Schreiner is a Full Professor and holds the Liebig Chair at the Institute of Organic Chemistry, Faculty of Biology and Chemistry, Justus Liebig University Giessen. He is also an Associate Fellow at the Peace Research Institute Frankfurt (PRIF) and an Honorary Full Professor at Macquarie University, Sydney. His research spans computational and experimental organic chemistry, with a focus on reaction dynamics, quantum tunneling, London dispersion, and nanodiamonds.
His research interests include reaction dynamics, reactive intermediates, quantum tunneling, London dispersion interactions, organocatalysis, and nanodiamond chemistry. He combines high-level computational methods with experimental techniques, often in interdisciplinary collaborations. His group investigates fundamental reactivity patterns and develops functional materials based on diamondoids.
The recent publications highlight consistent work in quantum tunneling, dispersion interactions, nanodiamond functionalization, and reaction mechanism elucidation. Trends show a strong integration of machine learning with quantum chemistry, experimental characterization of high-energy intermediates, and materials applications of adamantane-type clusters.
