Peter R Costello is a Professor of Philosophy at Providence College. He holds a Ph.D. from Pennsylvania State University (2002).
His research focuses on phenomenology, intersubjectivity, and the intersection of philosophy with literature and education. Key areas include Edmund Husserl's theories, ethics, and the application of philosophical concepts to children's literature.
Recent scholarly contributions include two articles in Emotion, Space, and Society (2014) exploring phenomenological approaches to community and intersubjectivity. He has also authored books on phenomenology and the arts (2016) and layers in Husserl's phenomenology (2012).
Costello has served on 13 professional service committees between 2012–2016, demonstrating active engagement in academic governance.
