About
Dr. Peter Nosko is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biology and Chemistry at Nipissing University's Faculty of Arts and Science. His research focuses on plant ecology, environmental adaptation, and forest regeneration dynamics. He holds a BSc from Wilfrid Laurier University, an MSc from Laurentian University, and a PhD from the University of Alberta.
Nosko's research interests include plant physiological responses to environmental stressors, invasive species ecology, and boreal forest regeneration. His work examines how plants adapt to changing environments, with particular emphasis on herbivore-plant interactions and climate impacts on forest ecosystems.
His publications demonstrate consistent focus on ecological adaptation, with recent work exploring urban environmental impacts on plant evolution and regeneration dynamics of native and invasive tree species. The research spans field observations, chemical analyses, and comparative ecological studies across diverse habitats from arctic tundra to managed forests.
