Peter Nguyen

Peter Nguyen is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Social Work at Winthrop University’s College of Arts and Sciences. He holds a PhD in Social Work from the University of Houston and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Texas at Austin. Prior to academia, he worked in non-profit child welfare sectors, integrating practice experience into classroom teaching.

His research focuses on cultural diversity and Asian American mental health, reflecting a commitment to bridging academic theory with real-world social work applications. Dr. Nguyen’s professional background combines academic instruction with direct service experience in vulnerable populations.
