Peter Marko is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Zoology at the University of Hawaii. His lab applies molecular genetics to study biogeography, evolution, and conservation in marine systems, with emphasis on population structure, speciation, and environmental DNA (eDNA).
Research Areas: Gene flow, community genetics, seafood mislabeling, larval dispersal, and speciation in marine organisms. His work has exposed seafood fraud in commercial fisheries and developed eDNA methods for coral reef monitoring.
