Peter Macqueen

Peter Macqueen is a Principal Lecturer at the Department of Art and Design within the College of Social Sciences and Arts at Sheffield Hallam University. He leads the Art & Design Apprenticeship Portfolio and is the course leader for the Packaging Professional BSc, focusing on developing industry-ready professionals for equitable and sustainable outcomes in packaging. His research interests span packaging design, sustainable materials, and work-based learning methodologies.

He has extensive industry experience in manufacturing, brand ownership, and design consultancy, winning awards across these sectors. His research is affiliated with the Art Design and Media Research Centre and Culture and Creativity Research Institute.

Peter teaches modules such as Introduction to Packaging and Packaging the Future, emphasizing pan-supply-chain innovation. Recent publications include studies on packaging interaction design and eco-friendly material innovations.
