Peter Lindenburg

Peter Lindenburg is a Lecturer in Analytical Biosciences at Leiden University of Applied Sciences (Hogeschool Leiden), where he is affiliated with the Leiden Centre for Applied Bioscience (LCAB). He maintains a strong collaboration with the Leiden Academic Centre for Drug Research (LACDR) at Leiden University.

Dr. Lindenburg specializes in developing analytical chemical methods for metabolomics analysis of very small samples, such as those from organ-on-a-chip systems and laboratory animals. His research bridges pharmaceutical sciences, analytical chemistry, and environmental science with applications in personalized medicine. He has developed a specialized sample preprocessing technique called electroextraction that rapidly extracts and concentrates metabolites for accurate measurement.

His research interests include:

• Metabolomics and personalized medicine
• Organs-on-a-chip technology, particularly liver-on-a-chip
• Environmental metabolomics for water quality monitoring
• Electroextraction techniques for sample preparation
• Mass spectrometry and separation science

Dr. Lindenburg is actively involved in multiple research projects, including the 'Liver-on-a-Chip' project which has secured follow-up funding due to promising results. He supervises PhD students and teaches analytical chemistry to undergraduate students.
