Peter Kruse

Professor Peter Kruse is a faculty member in the Department of Chemistry & Chemical Biology at McMaster University. His research focuses on nanomaterials, sensor technology, and surface chemistry with applications in environmental monitoring and material science. Kruse holds a PhD from the University of California San Diego (2000) and a Diploma from Friedrich-Schiller University (1995).

He leads the Kruse Research Group, which develops advanced chemiresistive sensors for detecting contaminants in water, including disinfectants, heavy metals, and ions. His work integrates nanotechnology with environmental chemistry, emphasizing practical sensor solutions for real-world applications. Key contributions include graphene-based platforms for multiparameter water quality analysis and novel fabrication methods for conductive nanomaterial patterns.
